May 22 is the deadline to apply for the August career service tests.

The Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Subprofessional Levels applications will be accepted from May 22 to June 21, 2023, the Public Service Commission (CSC) reminded prospective public workers on Wednesday.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles stated in a formal statement that the commission has already taken great preparations in expectation of a sizable number of applicants who seek to join the nation’s civil service.

To accommodate the anticipated large number of candidates and make the application process more convenient for prospective civil servants, he claimed that the CSC had set up 97 testing locations across 16 areas.

The number of testing locations for the August tests is slightly higher than the 94 locations the CSC set up for the exams on March 26.

According to the CSC, qualified candidates must be citizens of the Philippines, at least 18 years old on the application deadline, of good moral character, and free from conviction for any crime or offense involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, irregularities in an examination, intoxication, or drug addiction. They also cannot have been dishonorably discharged from the military or dismissed for cause from any civilian position.

Additionally, candidates should not have taken the same level of Career Service Examination through PPT or CSC Computerized Examination within three months of the exam date or between May 20 and August 19, 2023.

Regardless of their level of education, the CSC stated that those who meet these requirements are invited to apply for and take the CSE-PPT.

If they meet the criteria, they must deliver the following items to the CSC Offices: a completed application form (CS Form No. 100, revised September 2016); four copies of passport-sized identification photos with a handwritten name tag legibly showing the candidate’s signature over their printed full name (read the examination announcement for a full list of requirements); an original and a photocopy of any of the valid identification cards accepted for the civil service exam; a properly completed Certificate of Consent/Release/Waiver relating to the Corona Virus Disease; and examine

The application form may be picked up in person at any of the CSC Regional or Field Offices or downloaded and printed on legal-size bond paper directly from the CSC website.

For complete and detailed information on the requirements for the I.D. photographs, the list of accepted I.D. cards, and other details, including the list of testing locations by region, interested applicants are recommended to consult CSC Examination Announcement No. 02, s. 2023 posted on the CSC website.
