Covid-19 was defeated by 52 more overseas Filipinos.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday that 52 abroad Filipinos had recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) this week.
From May 30 to June 5, the agency documented 47 survivors in Asia Pacific and five in the Middle East/Africa area, bringing the total number of survivors to 12,056.
Approximately 124 new illnesses and 15 deaths were also recorded within the same time period. One victim was from Asia Pacific, while 14 others were from the Middle East/Africa area.
The number of current cases is 6,628 as of this publishing, with 1,194 deaths.
“The overall number of Covid-19 recoveries fell slightly to 60.65% this week, compared to previous week’s percentages. Meanwhile, the number of those who died and those who needed treatment rose to 6.01 percent and 33.34 percent, respectively “According to the DFA.
The Middle East/Africa area has had the greatest numbers in all categories since the pandemic began, with 6,293 recoveries, 4,268 active cases, and 789 fatalities.
