Science-based distribution of Covid-19 vaccines: Palace

The results of health specialists are being used by the national government in choosing priority regions for the distribution of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccinations, according to a statement issued by Malacañang on Wednesday.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, there is no special treatment in the delivery of Covid-19 vaccinations to the “National Capital Region (NCR) Plus 8, Plus 10” or any other specific geographic area.

The National Capital Region Plus 8, which includes Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, Metro Davao, and Metro Cebu, is the first region to be targeted for Covid-19 immunization.

More cities would be prioritized in Covid-19 vaccine delivery, according to Roque, who subsequently stated that Bacolod, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Dumaguete, Tuguegarao, General Santos, Naga and Legazpi will be included in the list of priority cities.

“Mayroon kasing siyensa is the driving force behind this. Favoritism for the sake of favoritism (or favoritism) is not acceptable. (There is science behind this.) There is no preference based on economic activity alone. It is not a case of preference for the sake of favoritism. It is not a case of partiality based only on economic activity),” he said during a news conference held in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

According to Roque, who cited health experts, establishing a “artificial border” or wall surrounding Metro Manila and certain priority regions would guarantee the safety of individuals who have not been vaccinated.

He said that if you solve the issue here, you would also solve the problem in the whole nation since the cases in Metro Manila are the ones that are spreading across the country. “If you solve the problem here, you will also solve the problem in the entire country,” he added.

Considering that they are highly urbanized and contribute significantly to the economy, Roque believes that the “NCR Plus 8, Plus 10” should be given top priority.

It is possible that this will be the number one priority for binibigay in the Metro Manila Plus 8 area since the science is consistent. According to science, if there is containment in Metro Manila Plus 8, there will be containment throughout the whole nation.

The Philippines celebrated the administration of more over 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine on Monday, marking the completion of the country’s immunization campaign, which began in March.

As of June 27, official government statistics indicated that 10,065,414 dosages had been administered. Of this total, 2,527,286 Filipinos have gotten a complete vaccination against Covid-19, while 7,538,128 have received their first dose of the vaccine.

The Philippines hopes to achieve “population protection” by the end of the year by immunizing 40 percent to 50 percent of its population, with the majority of those vaccinations taking place in priority regions.
