The DPWH has completed improvements worth P100 million in a Bulacan school
The Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed improvements worth PHP100 million at the Congressman Erasmo Cruz Memorial Central School in Barangay Wakas, this town.
The projects comprise a three-story structure with 15 classrooms, a multi-purpose covered hall, and a rubberized track and field oval with bleachers, according to Henry Alcantara, district engineer of the DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO.
According to Alcantara, the funds for the improvements came from Senator Joel Villanueva’s office, as requested by his sister, late Mayor Joni Villanueva-Tugna.
Despite the difficulties posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, he was happy that the projects were finished on schedule.
“After that, we’ll give it on to Senator Villanueva for the official inauguration,” she said. During an inspection visit, Alcantara informed reporters that the building time took more than eight months and that it was ultimately finished 100 percent.
Despite the second wave surge of Covid-19 in March, the third wave in July, and severe rains caused by the southwest monsoon exacerbated by typhoons until August, he claimed the projects were completed.
