Exemption from the RT-PCR test for fully immunized domestic visitors is being advocated.

Domestic visitors visiting key tourist sites in the country will be subject to fewer restrictions, according to the business sector.

During the Go Negosyo’s Bakuna Townhall on October 15, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion stated that the private sector is in talks with the local government units (LGUs) of Aklan, Bohol, Cebu, Palawan, Siargao, and the rest of the top tourist destinations to exempt fully vaccinated travelers from presenting reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results upon arrival.

Starting this month, Cebu province, with the exception of Cebu City, will no longer need visitors to submit RT-PCR testing.

Concepcion said that airline firms had demanded this.

“The airlines have asked that fully vaccinated individuals be exempted from the RT-PCR test.” “That is a significant expense component for many of people who go to these tourist locations,” he said.

Governors and mayors, according to Concepcion, have responded positively to the private sector.

“I’m happy the reaction has been so positive. “Everyone seems to be receptive to getting rid of the RT-PCR test,” Concepcion added.

The IATF has mandated that all local passengers show negative RT-PCR test results upon arrival at their destination, regardless of whether their trip is for business or pleasure.

However, some municipal governments have relaxed regulations in order to attract more visitors and revitalize their local tourism sector.
