The Department of Education has developed a mental health helpline.

To assist learners, instructors, and the general public in times of mental and psychological distress, the Department of Education (DepEd) has created a mental health helpline system containing contact information from various organizations.

DepEd directive No. 072, series of 2021 directs its offices to include and promote Circle of Hope Community Services, Inc.’s national and regional helplines, Covid-19 Mental Health Responders from Masters Psychological Services, Hopeline PH, and The 700 Club Asia in activities and programs.

“We prioritize the promotion and preservation of our personnel’s mental health and general welfare, especially in light of the problems we face as a result of the crisis,” DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones stated.

Mental health and psychosocial support, as well as wellness checks, may be available through the helplines.

Every year in March and October, all hotline numbers will be updated.

The memorandum is in line with DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2020, which mandates the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services.
