The flight from Manila to Camiguin will begin on November 15th.
Cebu Pacific (CEB) said Tuesday that direct flights between Manila and Camiguin province will begin on November 15.
According to the Philippine News Agency, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) acknowledged that there is currently no direct flight on the route.
CEB spokesman Carmina Romero said that on Mondays and Fridays, CEB will only have one roundtrip flight between Manila and Camiguin.
Every Tuesday and Saturday, Romero added, a roundtrip flight between Camiguin and Cebu was also available.
Beginning November 9, the carrier stated that its service to and from Camiguin through Cebu will be restarted. It claims to be the first airline to resume direct flights to Camiguin Island since the outbreak of the coronavirus illness in 2019 (Covid-19).
“We are excited to relaunch the island’s tourism industry by making it easier for Juans to travel to and from this place.” In a statement, CEB Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said, “We look forward to having more passengers on board as we celebrate the reopening of leisure travel and ready to paint the sky yellow again.”
Passengers traveling to Camiguin should register on this website (cleancamiguinqr.com) and upload necessary papers such as a health declaration form and evidence of immunization.
They must also upload documentation of a confirmed booking in a local government unit-accredited facility, or clearance from the municipal health officer if staying in a private house. Before taking off, download a copy of their ID that includes a QR code and submit it to the airline.
A negative RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test result should be presented at least 72 hours before departure from Luzon and at least 48 hours before departure from the Visayas.
On the other side, on the tourist’s fifth day on Camiguin Island, an antigen test should be taken.
