Government agencies have launched a website called ‘Angat local PH’ to provide information on devolution.
The ‘Angat Lokal PH’ Facebook page was founded by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) to kick-off the government’s devolution awareness and communication campaign.
The ‘Angat Lokal PH’ Facebook page is the official social media platform for disseminating updates and information related to the Mandanas-Garcia Supreme Court ruling of 2019, as well as the implementation of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 138 on Full Devolution, or the transfer of certain functions in delivering basic services from national government agencies to local government units, which was signed on June 1, 2021. (LGUs).
The ‘Angat Lokal PH’ Facebook page, as the official media and information source, posts pertinent news, images, infographics, films, featurettes, and press releases on themes related to the impending devolution of power and services to LGUs.
As stated in EO No. 138 and in accordance with the Mandanas judgement, LGUs would see an increase in their share of national taxes beginning in 2022.
LGUs would be able to better serve their citizens by providing basic services and undertaking delegated initiatives and projects as a result of the increased fiscal allocation.
“Sa tulong ng ‘Dagdag na Pondo’ na magdudulot ng ‘Angat Serbisyo’ for sa mga mamamayan, ‘Aangat ang Lakas ng Lokal’ sa tulong ng ‘Dagdag na Pondo’ na magdudulot ng ‘Angat Serbisyo’ para sa mga mamamay (Full devolution would provide the LGUs with additional cash, resulting in greater service to the people),” DILG Secretary Eduardo Ao stated in a press release.
Members of the Devolution Sub-Committee on Communication Strategy co-manage the ‘Angat Lokal PH’ page.
