Booster shots are available in Manila for riders and Divisoria employees.

The municipal administration of Manila has offered booster doses for workers in Divisoria and delivery riders going through the city as part of its coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program.

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso announced the Booster Shot Night Vaccination for Divisoria employees on January 5 at a news conference on Wednesday.

Truck drivers, porters, shippers, vegetable and meat vendors, and other Divisoria workers will be vaccinated at night.

The vaccination clinic will be located on Juan Luna Street and Recto Street.

According to Domagoso, protecting these employees is “very crucial” because they are a part of Metro Manila’s food supply chain.

He went on to say that it would be done immediately at their workplace so that work would not be affected, and that they could just drop by whenever it was convenient for them.

Meanwhile, the city administration has organized a drive-through booster injection vaccination for delivery riders at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in Lawton, directly near Manila City Hall, on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It will be reserved for Grab, Angkas, Lalamove, Shopee, Lazada, Foodpanda, Mr. Speedy, and other motorbike delivery drivers.

All Covid-19 vaccine brands, according to Domagoso, will be available on both sites.

He urged these workers to take advantage of the opportunity to be boosted against Covid-19 for added protection.

“As we all know, our Grab, Angkas o mga drivers ay paikot ikot sa Metro Manila, so one of two things might happen: they may be carrying virus, or they could be mahawa rin sila sa virus.” Regardless of whether your passengers are Manilans or non-Manila residents, hindi maiistoorbo yung hanapbuhay nyo kasi (or other riders are riding around Metro Manila, one of two things may happen: they could be carrying the virus when they could become infected with it. This is for everyone, Manilans and non-Manilanian, and your work will not be affected because) you can simply pass by whenever it is convenient and available,” he added.

Those who need a booster shot only need to have their latest immunization card with them.

The local government had already given out 3,046,494 doses of Covid-19 vaccination as of Tuesday.

1,591,899 people have gotten at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 1,493,693 people have already received two doses of the vaccine, including those who have received the Janssen single-dose vaccination.

In the meantime, 223,777 doses of the Covid-19 vaccination have been delivered to minors aged 12 to 17. 118,453 people have already received their first dosage, and 105,324 have been fully vaccinated.

127,939 booster shots have been administered by the city administration.
