Agri and infrastructural damage caused by the top P25-B ‘Odette’
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday that the total cost of damage to agriculture and infrastructure caused by Typhoon Odette last December has surpassed PHP25 billion.
According to the agency’s latest report, agriculture damage in the provinces of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and Caraga totaled PHP7.7 billion.
Meanwhile, infrastructure damage in Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has reached PHP17.5 billion (BARMM).
In Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the BARMM, a total of 606,861 dwellings were damaged. 422,797 were classified as slightly damaged, while 184,064 were classified as completely damaged.
There have been 76 confirmed deaths as a result of the storm, with 74 people injured and nine people missing.
Meanwhile, reports of 331 deaths, 1,073 injuries, and 69 missing people are still being verified.
