Individuals working in Divisoria and the surrounding area responded to the city government’s appeal for a booster dosage of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine during the night vaccination, which took place from 7 p.m. on Wednesday until 4 a.m. on Thursday.

According to data issued by the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) on Thursday, 754 people took advantage of the Covid-19 booster shot held at Juan Luna Street and Recto Street.

According to the MPIO, 300 workers received the Pfizer booster shot, 204 received Moderna, 200 received Sinovac, and 50 received AstraZeneca.

Booster injections were given to vegetable, fish, and meat merchants, as well as truckers, porters, and shippers from various districts of Northern, Central, and Southern Luzon, where the majority of the food supply comes from and is delivered at night.

Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso led a special drive-through immunization for delivery riders at the Kartilya ng Katipunan on Thursday, alongside Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan.

The booster injection vaccine for Grab, Angkas, Lalamove, Mr. Speedy, FoodPanda, Shopee, and other delivery service firms was released, according to Domagoso, to safeguard both the riders and their clients while not interfering with their work.

After documenting 254 new instances on Thursday, the local government had a total of 1,232 active Covid-19 cases.

With 153 new recoveries, the total number of recoveries reached 91,328, while two new deaths were recorded, bringing the city’s total death toll to 1,779.
