Unvaccinated people are restricted from moving through Taguig.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) resolution restricting the travel of unvaccinated individuals will be adopted by Taguig’s Safe City Task Force to safeguard lives and livelihood.

Enforcement under Advisory No. 62 will be focused on situations where there is a significant risk of Covid-19 transmissions, such as public transportation and enclosed spaces, as well as areas where there have been an increase in cases and poor vaccination rates.

The city also asked the business sector to examine the immunization status of its personnel, according to a news release issued on Sunday.

“If infected with the Covid-19 virus, unvaccinated people are at a higher risk. Regulating the mobility of this vulnerable group of people is also a preferable option than imposing a total lockdown on the entire economy “Lino Cayetano, the mayor, stated.

Unvaccinated people are required to stay in their homes at all times under the MMDA resolution, with the exception of purchasing vital commodities and services such as food, water, medical services, public utilities, and work.

They’re also banned from indoor and outdoor restaurants and other food outlets, as well as leisure and social outings to malls, hotels, event sites, sports, and country clubs, and other similar places.

Traveling by public transit by land, sea, or air is also prohibited, except for the purchase of required goods and services.

Individual outdoor exercise is permissible regardless of vaccination status, age, or comorbidities; however, for those without vaccinations, it should be done close to home or as directed by the local government unit.

Individuals who have been fully vaccinated and seek to visit public or private establishments in Taguig City must produce proof of vaccination as well as a valid government identification card with a photo and address.

“We’re collaborating with the national government to put in place the necessary safeguards to stop the virus from spreading. We will continue to be vigorous in our vaccination efforts in Taguig. We are confident that this is our most effective viral defense “Cayetano continued.
