As part of its efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will begin giving free antigen tests to consenting random and volunteered passengers on Jan. 11.

The MRT-3 announced the free testing in a Facebook post on Monday, stating that it will take place from Tuesday to January 11, from January 17 to 21, from January 24 to 28, and on January 31.

The MRT-3 said, “Maglalagay ng antigen testing sites ang MRT-3 sa mga istasyon ng North Avenue, Cubao, Shaw Boulevard, at Taft Avenue” (The MRT-3 will construct antigen testing sites at the North Avenue, Cubao, Shaw Boulevard, and Taft Avenue stations).

According to the report, each station can accommodate 12 people during peak hours or 24 passengers each day.

“Isasagawa ang random antigen testing sa consenting and volunteering passengers tuwing peak hours mula 7 a.m. hanggang 9 a.m., at mula 5 p.m. hanggang 7 p.m., at mula 5 p.m. hanggang 7 p.m., at mula 5 p.m. hanggang 7 p.m., at mula 5 p.m. (Random antigen testing of consenting and willing passengers will take place during peak hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.),” the statement continued.

Medical personnel from the South Superhighway Medical Center will conduct the antigen testing, according to the statement.

Before receiving a free antigen test, participants will be required to fill out a consent and contact tracing form.

“Libreng makasasakay ng MRT-3 ang pasaherong papayag sa random antigen testing at magne-negatibo ang test resulta,” the MRT-3 stated.

Those who test positive will be denied access to an MRT-3 train and instructed to self-isolate and contact their local government unit (LGU) representative for health monitoring and confirmatory reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing, according to the statement.
