Sec Año of DILG contracts Covid-19 for 3rd time.

On Tuesday, Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano revealed for the third time that he has contracted the coronavirus illness 2019 (Covid-19).

After many of Ano’s close contacts tested positive for the virus, his test results were disclosed on Monday.

“For the time being, I am symptom-free. While isolating, I shall continue to work. In a letter to the Philippine News Agency, Ano stated, “I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boostered as soon as possible and to continue following health standards” (PNA).

On Monday night, during the Talk to the People, he delivered his report virtually to President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

On March 31, 2020, Ano tested positive for Covid-19, and on April 8, she had a second test, which came out negative.

Ano, however, tested positive for the virus again on August 16 of the same year.

Ano took a one-month absence on Jan. 11, 2021, as part of his post-Covid health recovery plan.

Meanwhile, PNP spokesman Col. Roderick Alba is one of the most recent Covid-19 instances in the force.

“I had a positive Covid-19 test. HS (Health Service) just released a report (at about 6:34 p.m., Jan 10, 2022). Flu, dry cough, runny nose with phlegm, and bodily pains are among the symptoms I’m experiencing. At the Kiangan quarantine center, I’m about to be quarantined. In a message to reporters, Alba added, “I am currently focusing on my urgent recuperation.”

The PNP Health Service said in its Covid-19 report posted Tuesday that 537 new cases brought the overall number of active cases to 2,412 out of 43,992 confirmed cases since the epidemic began.

Meanwhile, ten fresh recoveries have increased the total to 41,455, with 125 deaths.

The PNP Chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos, has previously stated that the increase in illnesses would have no impact on the police force’s activities.

According to PNP data, 215,886 personnel (95.81 percent) have received their first dose, while 8,051 (3.57 percent) are awaiting their second.

A total of 1,396 PNP members (0.62 percent) have yet to receive their immunization dosage.
