Sara’s objection to her father’s instruction is respected by Malacanang.

Malacanang respects Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s statement, noting that she is opposed to restricting the movement of people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Due to an increase in Covid-19 infections, President Rodrigo R. Duterte previously instructed barangay captains across the country to restrict the travel of persons who have not been vaccinated.

Unvaccinated people are currently subject to limitations imposed by a number of local governments, particularly in Metro Manila.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, the Acting Presidential Spokesperson, backed Duterte’s decree, saying it will assist people who refuse to obtain their Covid-19 vaccinations.

“Of course, we appreciate Mayor Inday Sara Duterte’s viewpoint. The President, on the other hand, is merely attempting to protect the unvaccinated from damage,” Nograles stated at a press conference at the White House.

Unvaccinated individuals, according to Nograles, are at a higher risk of developing critical Covid-19 symptoms or dying.

“Nakikita natin sa datos na yung kapag unvaccinated, mas mataas po ang odds na magiging severe or catastrophic Covid,” says the author (We can see from data that those unvaccinated have a higher chance of getting severe or critical Covid). So, as the father of the country, the President is merely attempting to safeguard the unvaccinated for the greater good,” he continued.

The presidential daughter remarked on Monday that those who have not been vaccinated should not be discriminated against.

Despite her support for vaccination against Covid-19, she claims that people have a choice whether or not to acquire the vaccine because it is not required.

“I am pro-vaccination and boosters, but I cannot agree with the exclusion or restriction of unvaccinated people in this circumstance…” “They were given the opportunity to make their own decisions,” she added.

Vaccinate yourself.

Meanwhile, Nograles urged seniors who have not yet received their Covid-19 vaccinations to do so.

This comes after the Department of Health revealed that three million elderly people are still unvaccinated. As of 2019, there are over nine million Filipinos aged 60 and up in the country.

“Pakiusap namin sa mga lolo at lola at sa kanilang mga mahal sa buhay (I plead to our grandfathers and grandmothers and their families), please get vaccinated for yourselves and your family.” “Covid-19 is a threat to our seniors,” Nograles added.

He reminded them that the elderly are at the greatest danger of dying as a result of Covid-19.

“Mas kailangan nila ng dagdag proteksyon na binibigay ng bakuna kahit ano pa ang brand nito,” says the narrator. “Ang supply ng bakuna ain’t a problem,” he remarked.

Over 52.8 million people in the country had been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as of January 10.
