Ballot faces for the May elections will be released soon: Comelec

The ballot faces for May 9, 2022, National and Local Elections will be released soon by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) (NLE).

According to Elaiza David, director of the Comelec’s Education and Information Department (EID), three ballots of various sizes would be used in the polls next year.

In Muslim Mindanao’s Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, the longest ballot, measuring 30 inches, will be used (BARMM).

The ballots for non-BARMM voters will be 26 inches long, while those for foreign voters will be 25 inches long.

“The international ballot is 25 inches long. Because their names are longer and they have more possibilities, BARMM is the longest. “Non-BARMM ballots are 26 inches long, and BARMM votes are 30 inches long,” she remarked in a virtual press conference on Monday.

The national and local positions for both BARMM and non-BARMM voters will be on the front side of the ballot, according to the poll body official, while the party list will be on the back of the ballot.

Meanwhile, names for national offices such as president, vice president, senators, and party-list groups will only appear on foreign ballots.

Candidates for national offices are listed at the front of the ballot, while party-list groups are listed at the bottom.

According to the most recent polling statistics, there are around 1.7 million international voters.

“Those who were not well-known were not thought to be a nuisance.” We have enough evidence to declare a candidate a nuisance, implying that they passed. When questioned why the Comelec accepted aspirants who aren’t as well-known, David answered, “They are evaluated to be qualified and have the bona fide intent to run, and their capacity to lead has been established.”

As of January 11, there are ten candidates for president, nine for vice president, 64 for senators, and 178 party-list groups on the tentative list of candidates.

Ernesto Corpus Abella, Leody De Guzman, Francisco Moreno Domagoso, Norberto Borja Gonzales, Panfilo Morena Lacson, Faisal Montay Mangondato, Faisal Montay Mangondato, Faisal Montay Mangondato, Faisal Montay Mangondato, Faisal Montay Mangondato, Faisal Montay Mangondato,

Atienza, Jose Jr. Livioko; Bello Walden Flores; David, Rizalito Yap; Duterte Sara Zimmerman; Lopez, Emmanuel Sto Domingo; Ong, Willie Tan; Pangilinan, Francis Nepomuceno; Serapio, Carlos Gelacio; Sotto, Vicente III Castelo are among the candidates for Vice President.

David, on the other hand, stated that they will be given a virtual tour of the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City, where the ballots will be produced on Tuesday morning.

She also stated that they will make another statement as to when the actual ballots will be printed.

“We’ll make another announcement about when printing will begin,” the Comelec spokesman added, “but it will be after the walkthrough.”
