Around 200,000 formal sector workers who were displaced as a result of the execution of Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila and other parts of the nation will benefit from the Department of Labor and Employment’s Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) (DOLE).

“Our PHP1 billion under CAMP would assist close to 200,000 workers,” Labor Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay stated in a virtual conference on Wednesday.

Tutay, on the other hand, stated that they plan to begin accepting applications next week.

“Hopefully, beginning next week, we will open our system for CAMP application for the formal sector affected by Level 3 or higher,” she added.

Beneficiaries of the CAMP would receive one-time cash assistance of PHP5,000.

Workers affected by permanent closure or retrenchment, as well as temporary closures, would be prioritized, according to Tutay.

DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III previously stated that 11,500 workers are affected by the permanent closure or retrenchment of businesses.

According to Tutay, nearly 2,000 employees are affected by temporary closures under Alert Level 3 as of January 15.

Applicants may use the DOLE’s online application system, reports.dole.gov.ph, to submit their applications.
