The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 32,744 new Covid-19 infections on Friday, up from 31,173 on Thursday, and 16,385 new recoveries.

The DOH added in its daily Covid-19 update that the additional cases raise the total number of active cases to 291,618 or 8.7% of all known infections nationally.

The majority of active cases have mild symptoms, with 277,833 of them, followed by the asymptomatic (9,015), those with moderate symptoms (2,979), those with severe symptoms (1,487), and those in critical condition (304).

The overall number of cases recovered in the country is 3,012,156, accounting for 89.7% of all cases.

There were 156 new Covid-19-related deaths, bringing the overall number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 53,309, or 1.59 percent of all cases.

According to the most recent testing data, 75,335 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Wednesday, with a positivity percentage of 44%.

Meanwhile, a moderate number of healthcare facilities are now occupied, with 3,900 intensive care unit (ICU) beds at 51% occupancy, 20,400 isolation beds at 52% occupancy, 14,700 ward beds at 54% occupancy, and 24 percent of 3,100 ventilators in operation.

There are 1,300 ICU beds with a 49 percent occupancy rate, 4,900 isolation beds with a 48 percent occupancy rate, 4,600 ward beds with a 56 percent occupancy rate, and 27 percent of 1,000 ventilators in use in the National Capital Region.
