NTF exec: Coordinate with LGUs in procuring vaccines at pharmacies.

On Friday, a representative of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 asked people who want coronavirus booster shots in pharmacies participating in the government’s “Resbakuna sa Botika” program to coordinate with their local government units (LGUs).

“They should work with their local governments to develop a schedule. The local government units (LGUs) are in charge of assigning and scheduling the work “During the arrival of nearly 1.8 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor remarked.

During the “Resbakuna sa Botika’s” initial launch on Thursday, he said 422 booster doses were given out.

The original rollout, Mayor said, was “excellent,” because the business sector collaborated with the government to expand immunization coverage.

“The wonderful thing about this (scheme) is that immunizations are becoming more widely available. They now have more options for where to acquire their vaccinations “he stated

On January 20 and 21, Generics Pharmacy, Generika Drugstore, Healthway Clinic, Mercury Drugstore, Watsons, QualiMed, and Southstar Drug took part in the first rollout in Metro Manila.

Other regions have shown interest in implementing the program in their area, according to the official.

“We need to pilot test this first in Metro Manila,” he said, “so we can observe how the process works and perfect it.” “We will undoubtedly extend this initiative.”

According to Mayor, the country has received over 215.5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, with nearly 56 million people fully immunized.

The mayor urged residents to acquire the life-saving vaccine, particularly against the Omicron strain of the coronavirus.

He predicted that Pfizer doses for children aged 5 to 11 years old will arrive in late January.
