The public’s trust in the government’s immunization program is growing, according to a survey.
According to Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, the latest survey showing increased confidence in Covid-19 vaccines means Filipinos have realized the benefits of getting inoculated, especially given the current spike in cases and the emergence of more transmissible variants.
According to the most recent results from a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from December 12 to 16, 2021, only 8% of the 1,440 adult Filipinos polled stated they do not wish to be vaccinated against Covid-19, down from 18% in September, 21% in June, and 33% in May last year.

Galvez stated that vaccination reduces severe and critical Covid-19 symptoms that can lead to hospitalization and even death, as has been stated by health officials since the vaccine program began.
“It has been proven that the majority of our casualties and hospitalizations during the surges of Delta and Omicron [variants] are unvaccinated,” Galvez added.
Galvez further stated that with the help of the media and private sector vaccination initiatives, the disinformation that spurred public opposition to Covid-19 vaccinations is progressively fading.
According to the SWS poll, 6% of the adult population is unsure about getting vaccinated, compared to 19% in September 2021, 24% in June 2021, and 35% in May 2021.
Similarly, 50% of responders had previously received at least one dose, a significant increase from 10% in June and 35% in September last year.
Unvaccinated people claimed they desire to get vaccinated in 35% of cases.
