The WTTC Global Summit in Manila has been rescheduled for April 2022.

The 21st Global Summit of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will be held in Manila from April 20 to 22.

More than 600 tourism executives from around the world are expected to attend the travel expo, which was initially scheduled for March. It will be held in person, with a virtual audience participating from all across the world.

The conference, according to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, will be a “major occasion” for the Philippines to show off its preparations for the country’s ultimate reopening to international visitors.

“Tourism has always presented us with limitless possibilities.” The reopening of our destinations and borders in the midst of the pandemic is critical to the millions of people who rely on travel and tourism for a living. “As we navigate the future normal in the travel business, we look forward to being your gracious hosts in Manila,” she said.

The event has been rescheduled to allow more foreign participants to attend in person, according to WTTC president and CEO Julia Simpson.

“As countries throughout the world continue to open their doors to tourism, we’ve decided to move our Global Summit forward by just a few weeks.” This would allow more foreign participants to join us in Manila and assist in guiding and leading the sector as it recovers,” she said.

“Our Global Summit is the most important travel and tourism event of the year.” “We look forward to seeing our members, industry leaders, and important government officials in Manila in April to continue our efforts to securely restore international travel,” she added.

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit is the most influential travel and tourism event, bringing together key tourism government representatives and stakeholders to continue synchronizing efforts to promote the sector’s recovery.

Last year, the world’s first big in-person conference of travel and tourism leaders since the onset of the pandemic took place in Cancun, Mexico.
