In comparison to Covid-19, 95 percent of GSIS personnel have now been vaccinated.

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), a state pension fund, has claimed that 95 percent of its employees had been vaccinated against coronavirus sickness in 2019. (Covid-19).

Priority Group A4 covers government personnel and workers in the private and informal sectors who physically report to their workplace, as defined by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolution No. 117, series of 2021.

In the struggle against Covid-19, the state pension fund has always been at the forefront.

GSIS was recently honored by the ASEAN Social Security Association for its pandemic-related strategic communication program.

In February and March 2021, it received a Silver Anvil and three Quill awards for its Covid-19-related communication campaigns.

It was the world’s only government agency to earn the prestigious Gold Stevie Award for the “Most Valuable Government Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic” in September 2020.

GSIS has been diligently adopting safety precautions to reduce the risk of exposure of its staff, clients, and visitors to Covid-19 since it opened its doors to the public once the quarantine restrictions were lifted in 2020.

It has installed computer systems that count persons within the building automatically, as well as implemented the official government contact tracing software StaySafe.ph.

At the GSIS offices’ entrance, handwashing stations were also set up. Inside the office, all employees and visitors must wear face masks and face shields at all times.

In addition, to adapt to evolving client needs in the new normal, GSIS has created contactless means of accepting loan, claim, and benefit applications.

Appointments for interviews through Facebook Messenger, Zoom, and Viber may be made for pensioners complying with the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) via text messages (SMS) or email.

GSIS also implemented the Bayanihan Fund for Frontliners program, which offers families of government front-liners with an additional PHP500,000 in insurance benefits in addition to their previous death and funeral payments.

In collaboration with the Departments of Health and Interior and Local Government, the GSIS has also established Local Isolation and General Treatment Areas for Covid-19 patients (Ligtas Covid) centers.

The pension fund provides financial aid for the purchase of vaccines, patient care equipment, hygiene kits, handwashing facilities, oxygen support and maintenance, medication, and other necessities through the Ligtas Covid program.
