On Sunday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 8,361 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest number in six days.

As of 4 p.m., the DOH case report indicated 126,227 active cases, down from 136,436 the day before.

Active cases peaked at 291,618 on January 21 this year, thanks to the highly transmissible Omicron strain.

There are 4,864 asymptomatic cases, 116,598 mild cases, 3,008 moderate cases, 1,447 severe cases, and 310 critical cases among the active patients.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the DOH has reported 18,431 new recoveries, bringing the total number of people who have recovered from the sickness to 3,428,815, or 95 percent of the total 3,609,568.

A total of 312 people died, bringing the total number of people killed to 54,526.

To date, 42 percent of 3,800 ICU beds, 39 percent of 20,900 isolation beds, and 37 percent of 15,500 ward beds for Covid-19 patients are occupied across the country.

At least 35% of the 1,300 ICU beds, 31% of the 4,600 isolation beds, and 33% of the 4,300 ward beds in Metro Manila are in use.
