Sara has ruled out the prospect of BBM’s replacement.

Sara Duterte, a vice presidential candidate and the mayor of Davao City, said on Sunday that she is not considering changing presidential candidate and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. if the petition against him is allowed.

Mayor Sara described the prospect of her taking Marcos’ position as “exceptionally nasty,” noting that neither of them has yet won an election.

“In my opinion, speculation about my ‘potentially replacing President Bongbong Marcos’ is really unappealing because β€” in reality β€” neither of us has yet to win an election. In a press statement, she stated, “It’s putting the cart before the horse.”

“I am not considering a possible replacement, and I am not looking forward to a scenario in which BBM is disqualified β€” before or after the elections,” she continued.

She stated that she and Marcos have not discussed the charges of disqualification against him.

The disqualification cases filed against Marcos, on the other hand, she stated to have “no validity at all.”

“I maintain that the disqualification proceedings filed against BBM are complete without merit β€” contrived by anti-Marcos forces determined to reclaim control of our country, regardless of whether they sow division among our people, weaken our freedom, or make a mockery of our laws,” she stated.

Duterte is running for vice president under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party, whereas Marcos is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas).

They decided to run as a team and dubbed themselves “UniTeam.”

Marcos said that he is concerned about the disqualification proceedings filed against him in a Saturday TV interview with TV host Korina Sanchez, but he also conceded that his running mate, Duterte, may become president if the petition against him is accepted.

β€œYes. When asked if the scenario is plausible, Marcos said, “If I get disqualified.”

While Marcos’ disqualification charges before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) are still pending, he has stated that they will not deter him from carrying out his plans.

“Of certainly,” she says. Everything is taken seriously by me. Everything makes me nervous. But I do not let it distract me from the campaign,” he remarked.

The Comelec has yet to pronounce on Marcos’ appeal for disqualification based on his failure to file income tax returns and claimed failure to pay the resulting tax debt.
