12 of 17 PH areas have submitted an “unvaxxed list,” according to the DILG.

On Monday, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that 12 of the country’s 17 regions had submitted their list of people who had not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus sickness 2019. (Covid-19).

DILG Secretary Eduardo Ao said in a television interview that the data will let the government focus on municipalities and villages that are falling behind in the current Covid-19 vaccination program.

“Karamihan dito nasa malalayo, so ito rin ang magiging plan natin kung paano mapaaabot ang bakuna rito,” he added.

On February 2, the DILG chairman also held a meeting with local government units (LGUs), during which lagging LGUs were given targets for the number of people they needed to vaccinate.

He went on to say that the government will put “proper focus” on areas with low immunization rates, dispatching more volunteers and delivering more vaccine doses.

He also pledged the cooperation of the national government, particularly the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection, in guaranteeing the vaccinations’ timely and safe delivery.

Ao went on to say that the government will continue to push a huge public awareness campaign on the significance of getting the Covid-19 vaccine to guard against the virus, with the goal of increasing public trust in the vaccine.

3rd National Vaccine Drive

During the third ‘Bayanihan, Bakunahan’ edition on February 10 and 11, Ao said the government aims to vaccinate around 2 million people with their first dosage and another 4 million with booster doses across the country.

According to Ao, the initiative will provide roughly 1 million primary doses and booster vaccinations for Metro Manila, which is now on Alert Level 2 until February 15.

“Sana nga ay suportahan ng ating mga kababayan ang (We hope our fellow Filipinos will support) ‘National Vaccination Day Part 3’ sa February 10 and 11),” he continued.

He also urged firms to give their workers time off to get vaccinated.

“In reality, dapat nga ay binibigyan pa sila ng incentives (they should be given incentives) and their time off to get vaccinated, hindi ikakaltas sa kanilang leave,” he continued.
