Del Rosario wants to keep the housing market growing.

Eduardo del Rosario, Secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), said on Wednesday that the government’s benefits from promoting quality and affordable housing units for all Filipinos should be maintained.

Del Rosario said in a statement that the government “remains strong in fulfilling its commitment” to provide robust, safe, and inexpensive shelters to the public, particularly to low-income families.

According to him, the government launched roughly seven housing projects in November alone, benefiting around 3,500 households across the country.

“Through DHSUD, the government is now broadening its reach to help more Filipino families obtain quality and affordable homes to call their own,” he said.

The Uswag Low-Rise Residential Building in Jaro District, Iloilo City; the three-story Marangal Village Homeowners Association Inc. High Density Housing (HDH) in Brgy. Longos, Malabon City; and the four-story Samahang Magkakapitbahay Na Nagkakaisa HOA Inc. HDH in Brgy. San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City are among these projects.

The DHSUD’s major shelter agency, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), is implementing these housing projects in collaboration with the local government units (LGUs) in each area.

A nearby homeowners’ association will benefit from the Malabon housing project, which will assist 282 families.

The Novaliches’ newly constructed settlement building will house 92 informal settler families (ISFs) that live along the Tullahan River’s danger zones.

Del Rosario recently led the ceremonial groundbreaking and cheque presentation for land development of the 1Bataan Village in Orion, Bataan province.

ISFs from the province’s dangerously prone areas are projected to be housed in 2,936 dwelling units.

Another two housing projects are now being implemented in Baler, Aurora, benefiting 143 ISFs.

Del Rosario also signed a contract for the Palayan City relocation center, which would be built soon.

He stated that “the agreement will pave the path for the establishment of a shared housing complex.”

The National Housing Authority (NHA) will lead the Palayan resettlement initiative by allocating developers’ rewarded compliance to balanced housing.

Del Rosario also authorized the South Cotabato Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan for the years 2020-2028, with the goal of promoting industrial development “without harming the environment.”

“These housing projects demonstrate the Duterte administration’s commitment to providing durable, safe, and cheap shelters to all Filipinos, particularly the poor,” del Rosario added.
