Despite an increase in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases across the European country, Filipinos in Austria are in good health, according to the Philippine Embassy in Vienna.

Deena Joy Amatong, Chargé d’Affaires, noted that Filipino workers who were affected by the Covid-19 surge-driven lockdown are also getting help from the Austrian government’s federal jobs program, which covers a portion of their income.

According to Amatong, Austria is currently under nationwide lockdown till December 11.

As of this writing, there are 135,148 current Covid-19 cases in Austria, with 10,367 instances reported on December 1 alone.
