The number of Filipinos who have been properly vaccinated has risen to 40.7 million.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine has now been delivered in the Philippines, with 40,693,310 Filipinos now fully protected against the terrible sickness.

As of December 10, data from the National Covid-19 vaccination dashboard revealed that 54,553,456 doses were utilized as first shots, with 736,230 doses used as boosters or supplementary jabs.

To ensure population protection, the government aims to complete the two primary doses of at least 54 million adult Filipinos, at least 80% of children aged 12 to 17, and booster shots for 1.6 million health care professionals by the end of the year.

The government plans to expand the number of properly vaccinated Filipinos to 77 million by the end of the first quarter next year, and to 90 million by the second quarter, according to Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the National Task Force Against Covid-19’s lead implementer.

The ministry reminded the public that booster shots are available six months after receiving their second dose or three months after receiving the single-dose Janssen vaccine.

In vaccination centers, senior folks and adults with comorbidities get preferential lanes.

When the second leg of the statewide vaccination drive “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” takes place from December 15 to 17, the effort to halt the epidemic will be stepped up.
