The number of areas under granular lockdown has dropped to 42.

Due to the Alert Level System, the number of areas under granular lockdown across the country has been decreased to 42, according to Secretary Eduardo Ao of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Due to a decrease in Covid-19 instances, local government entities in Metro Manila have suspended granular lockdowns, according to Ao.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) had been implementing community quarantine classification to battle the pandemic before the Alert Level System.

More guidelines under the Alert Level System, according to Ao, must be followed, but these have helped us to reopen the economy and bring more work chances to the people.

He also stated that mass gathering offenses have decreased, despite the fact that authorities have seen that more persons are failing to observe the wearing of face masks and physical distance.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 235 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, the lowest number of cases in a single day in 18 months.

The number of active cases fell to 10,526 as 780 more patients recovered from the sickness, according to the DOH. There are now 2,775,991 recoveries across the country.

Only 10 new deaths were reported by the DOH, bringing the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in the country to 50,351.

On December 12, the Department of Health reported that only 0.9 percent of the 24,120 people who were tested for Covid-19 were positive.
