PH records the 10 millionth vax arrival in a single day.

On Wednesday, the country received the most vaccine doses in a single day, with a total of 10,403,550 doses.

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 (NTF) has received 214,500 doses of AstraZeneca vaccination supplied by the British government, 856,800 doses of Moderna vaccine donated by the German government, and 3,055,200 doses of Janssen vaccine donated by the Dutch government as of this writing.

In the evening, the national government would deliver 1,187,550 doses of Pfizer vaccine, 2,249,900 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, and 2,840,100 doses of Moderna vaccine provided by the German government to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

NTF Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor remarked in an interview during the vaccination delivery that these immunizations are critical because the Department of Health has confirmed incidences of the Omicron strain in the country.

“We like to promote vaccination among our kababayans. We have a lot of vaccinations that are effective against Covid-19, and with the reported Omicron outbreak in the Philippines, it is imperative that everyone is vaccinated,” Mayor said.

He went on to say that, despite the presence of the new Covid-19 version, Filipinos may expect a better Christmas, “and the only way to have a better Christmas is to be vaccinated.”

“It is the objective and purpose of the National Vaccine Operation Center, led by Secretary (Carlito) Galvez (Jr.), that by the end of the year, 54 million Filipinos will have been vaccinated, and we will celebrate a happier Christmas to the extent feasible,” Mayor said.
