On Christmas and New Year’s Day, there will be no lotto draws or games: PCSO

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) stated Wednesday that there will be no ticket sales or lottery drawings for games on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

“No selling/no draw on December 25, Saturday, Christmas Day, and January 1, 2022, Saturday, New Year’s Day,” the agency stated in an alert.

The lottery draws for December 24 and 31 will be held earlier, at 11:30 a.m. for the morning draw, and 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. for the afternoon draw, according to PCSO general manager Royina Garma.

On December 24 and 31, sales will be held from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for lotto and digit games, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Keno.

This, according to Garma, will allow PCSO officers and consumers to spend the holidays with their family.

Meanwhile, regular selling and drawing will continue on December 26-30 and January 2, 2022, respectively.

Garma advised the public to support PCSO games in order to increase the amount of money available to help Filipinos.

The PCSO is the primary government organization in charge of raising and disbursing funds for health-related initiatives, medical support and services, and national charities.

The medical access program is one of its main initiatives, and it aims to meet the medical requirements of Filipinos all across the country, notably in the areas of hospitalization, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant drugs.

Revenues from PCSO games are used to fund the program.
