Lacson and Sotto say winning in the polls is about “calling sacrifice” rather than “luxury.”

Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson of the Partido Reporma and his running mate, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, regard victory in the May 9 elections as a “called sacrifice” rather than a “luxury.”

“If your dalawa is sabay pagpalain ng Poong Maykapal, ng Diyos na maglingkod pa, tawagin namin (itong) ‘called sacrifice,’ siguro sa isipan ng iba wala akong pinatutungkulan, siguro sa isipan ng iba pribilehiyo ito na ma-e (If God blesses us with another chance to serve, we’ll call it a ‘calling sacrifice,’ whereas others, and I’m not referring to anyone in particular, see it as a privilege to be elected, but we have a different mindset), “Lacson said this during a campaign rally on Wednesday afternoon at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

Lacson claims their mindsets are different as a result of their extensive public service careers, which he claims totals 83 years between them.

“When you are not called, you are not called, and when you are called, do your best,” the presidential candidate stated, adding that if elected, they will try their best to improve the administration.

“Kaya nga may battle cry kung nababasa niyo diyan sa labas at dito, sabi namin aayusin ng gobyerno para maging maayos ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino (That is why our battle cry, if you saw it posted outside and within, sabi namin aayusin ng gobyerno

Vic Sotto, widely known as “Bossing,” an actor and television host, said Lacson and his elder brother are both trustworthy guys who can help clear Philippine society of thieves and corruption on the same occasion.

“Sila ang tunay nating mapagkakatiwalaan ng ating kinabukasan, sila ang aayos ng ating gobyerno, sila rin ang aayos ng ating buhay,” the younger Sotto added.

Former police general Guillermo Eleazar, health advocate Dr. Minguita Padilla, and former Makati Rep. Monsour del Rosario, all senatorial candidates for the party, attended the gathering.

Former Agriculture Secretary and senatorial aspirant Emmanuel “Manny” Piol also attended the event, with the goal of advancing programs to better the lives of farmers and provide food security to Filipinos.

Pinol proposed that model food outlets be established in Quezon City, allowing city residents to purchase fresh produce and meats directly from farms and the seas via Pinoy fisherman.

Lacson and Sotto have sponsored Senate investigations into agricultural smuggling, which is harming the local industry, with the goal of uplifting and nurturing the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen alike.

Raffy Tulfo, a radio personality, and senate candidate echoed his support for the Lacson-Sotto platform.

Tulfo pledged to push the veteran senators’ BRAVE (Budget Reform Crusade for Village Empowerment) advocacy through his son Ralph.

This move, according to the duo, will address government corruption by bringing monies from the national government down to the grassroots, allowing local government units to better plan initiatives for their people’s advancement.

Meanwhile, Lacson feels that this program is the most effective weapon against poverty and that it will pull more Filipinos out of poverty.

Lacson has outlined BRAVE in earlier meetings with local leaders and representatives from many industries, beginning with his and Sotto’s announcement of their candidacy last September, when they were the first to do so.

Meanwhile, guest senatorial candidate JV Ejercito expressed his confidence in the Lacson-Sotto team’s ability to progress the healthcare sector, which is consistent with the Universal Health Care Act, which he helped draft in the Senate.

Ejercito is hopeful that Lacson and Sotto, his former Senate colleagues, will be able to improve medical care for all Filipinos in all corners of the country, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.
