The final poll bets’ list is expected to be released by early January, according to the Comelec.
On Monday, a Commission on Elections (Comelec) official stated that the final list of candidates for the May 2022 elections will be released early next month.
“We anticipated them finishing in the first week of January.” All of the decisions, hopefully, have been made public. We have till January 7 to complete everything so that we can print on time. In a virtual news briefing, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said, “January 7 is an estimate of when all of these things will be done.”
Disqualification, annulment of certificates of candidacy, and declaration as nuisance candidates are among the cases pending against several candidates.
Jimenez further stated that the official ballot will be printed by January 15.
Meanwhile, he claimed they will use bogus candidate identities in the mock polls, which will be held concurrently across the country on December 29, including in Metro Manila.
