MANILA, Philippines — On Tuesday, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea issued a public warning about a man named Michael Roa who is acting as his chief of staff in order to solicit contributions.

In a statement, Medialdea said, “This is to alert and warn the public that a certain Michael Roa has been deliberately misrepresenting himself as Chief of Staff of the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES).”

He claimed Roa was involved in various fraudulent schemes and had allegedly sought monies from local government units under the pretense of acting under Malacanang’s direction and supervision, using the name of the OES.

“The President’s Office and the Office of the Executive Secretary have not authorized anyone to act on their behalf under that name.” “Neither office has any Michael Roa on their payroll,” he stated.

If anyone has ever been contacted or transacted with the abovementioned person, Medialdea asked the public to immediately report them to the 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center for appropriate action.

“We will hold him and any other person using the same name accountable to the greatest extent of the law,” he stressed.
