The Covid-19 positive rate at NCR has risen to 8.4%, according to OCTA.
The OCTA Research Group reported Wednesday night that the positive rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) continues to grow, presently standing at 8.4% as of Tuesday.
“The optimism rate has risen to 3.86 percent after seven days. In a tweet, OCTA Research Group fellow Dr. Guido David remarked, “This means new cases in the NCR are expected to hit over 1,000 on December 30.”
The percentage of Covid-19 tests that were positive in a given area or region is known as the positivity rate.
Meanwhile, new cases are expected to reach 1,600 to 2,000 nationally on December 30, he said.
The Department of Health (DOH) stated in a public advisory that the reported increase in infections is predicted due to increased mobility, involvement in gatherings, and testing scheduling or delay during the holidays.
“While we are noticing an increase in cases, due to our efforts in Covid-19 vaccination, trends for admitted severe and critical Covid cases have remained low,” the DOH said. “In addition, the vast majority of admitted severe and critical cases are unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated.”
The Department of Health assured the public that the cases’ progression is under control because it is contingent on the adherence of minimal public health requirements.
It also urged everyone, whether fully vaccinated, boosted, or unvaccinated, to get tested for Covid-19 if they experience any signs of the disease.
