IATF has updated its alert level measurements.

MANILA, Philippines β€” The new metrics for determining the Covid-19 alert level classifications of all places in the country were agreed on Thursday by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

According to the new alert level matrix, the cutoffs for the average daily attack rate (ADAR) of Covid-19 instances will be fewer than six for low risk, six to 18 for moderate risk, and more than 18 for high risk, according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, the acting presidential spokesperson.

According to Nograles, areas can be de-escalated to Alert Level 1 if all of the following criteria are met: low to minimal risk case classification; total bed utilization rate of less than 50%; full vaccination of 70% of the target population; and full vaccination of 80% of the target population for senior citizens.

According to him, the alert level metrics were changed based on the recommendations of the Data Analytics Sub-Technical Working Group (sTWG).

“Beginning March 1, 2022, these revised criteria will be used to determine the alert level classification of provinces, highly urbanized cities, and independent component cities,” he stated.

The Metro Manila Council (MMC) announced on Thursday that the mayors of Metro Manila unanimously proposed that the National Capital Region (NCR) be placed on the lowest Alert Level 1 beginning March 1 due to a decrease in Covid-19 cases in the region.

On Thursday, the IATF-IED convened to examine the MMC’s suggestion.

On Thursday, the Department of Health reported 1,745 new Covid-19 cases and 2,045 new recoveries, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 3,657,342 and recovered cases to 3,546,098 across the country.

According to the most recent Covid-19 bulletin, there are 55,079 current cases.
