MANILA, Philippines — According to a Department of Health (DOH) official, the fourth Bayanihan Bakunahan nationwide vaccination push has exceeded its vaccination targets for the first and second doses.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire announced in an online media forum that 115 percent of the target population for the first dose of Covid-19 shots had been vaccinated.

The shot was given to around 134 percent of the target population for the second dose.

Approximately 70% of the target completely vaccinated individuals have been inoculated for the booster doses.

The fourth national vaccination drive was supposed to take place from March 10 to 12, but it was postponed until March 18 in order to reach more older residents for the primary series and fully vaccinated people for booster injections.

According to Vergeire, more than 65.2 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated, 70.4 million have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 11.6 million have received their booster doses.

“Tuloy-tuloy po ang ating pagbabakuna dahil araw-araw nakakapagturok po tayo ng mahigit sa 200,000 na bakuna,” she added.
