In PH, 1.2 million reformulated Pfizer vaccination doses arrive.

MANILA, Philippines β€” The Philippines got 1.2 million doses of Pfizer vaccine for pediatric inoculation on Saturday night, according to the National Task Force against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Since the country’s initial deployment in February 2021, the country has received more than 242 million doses of vaccines procured by the government.

Despite the growing number of children who have been vaccinated, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje stated in an interview that the government will continue its push to encourage more parents and guardians to have their children vaccinated.

“Una nating in-orient iyong ating mga health-care providers tapos tuluy-tuloy ang ating pagbibigay ng information sa ating mga mothers saka iyong lahat na puwedeng influences,” she said.

‘[N]akikita natin sa mga image, iyong mga bata mismo na nagbakuna na nag-i-encourage sa kapwa-bata, sa mga nanay na pinabakunahan iyong kanilang anak ay makikita naman na acceptable ang pagbabakuna,’

More than 738,000 minors aged 5 to 11 years old have finished their two vaccine doses, according to the latest Malacaang data, with 8.89 million children aged 12 to 17 years old also fully vaccinated.

In total, 65.5 million people have been properly immunized in the country.

99% of cops have been completely vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police announced that nearly all of its staff had been completely vaccinated against the Covid-19.

According to the most recent figures as of Sunday, 224,460 out of 224,668 PNP members, or 99.02 percent of the force, have been properly vaccinated.

Only 1,641 (0.73%) of the total are partially vaccinated, while 567 (0.25%) are unvaccinated. 158,255 cops (71.14 percent) have received booster shots among the completely vaccinated.

On Sunday, the PNP reported no new cases, bringing the total number of current infections to six.

Since the beginning of the pandemic two years ago, the PNP Health Office has reported 48,858 cases, 48,724 recoveries, and 128 deaths.

The most recent death was on February 11th.
