MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, announced Sunday that no Filipino nationals were injured in the March 20 and 25 Jeddah attacks.

According to the Anadolu news agency, Saudi Aramco’s Bulk Plant in Jeddah, near a Formula One race, was the target of an “act of aggression” by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Sunday’s main race will proceed as scheduled.

According to the statement, following the “hostile” attack, a fire broke out in tanks at the oil facility but was quickly extinguished.

Additionally, a state-run social insurance office was targeted.

The Houthi group announced a three-day ceasefire on Saturday, with the possibility of a permanent ceasefire if the Saudi-led coalition’s operations against Yemen are halted.

“The Embassy and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah will continue to work in collaboration with local authorities and the Filipino community to ensure the safety and security of Filipinos in the Kingdom,” the embassy stated on Facebook.

In the event of an emergency, Filipinos are advised to contact the embassy or Consulate General’s office.

“The Philippines joins the international community in condemning these attacks and urging an end to violence against civilians,” the Philippine Embassy said.
