In private hospitals, the CDO reports that there are no active cases.

CITY OF CAGAYAN DE ORO – As of Tuesday, the city had zero cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in private hospitals, according to a health official.

The current development, according to Dr. Ted Yu Jr., medical officer of the City Health Office (CHO), came about as a result of an increase in the number of Covid-19 recoveries in the area.

“From private hospitals, we have zero (current Covid-19 cases). We’d want to express our gratitude to our private hospitals for accommodating and caring for our positive cases “Yu said.

Yu further confirmed that there are no active cases of Covid-19 at the city-run JR Borja General Hospital or the Army’s Camp Evangelista Station Hospital, in addition to private facilities.

According to the CHO Covid-19 Operation Center, there are only 26 active cases in the city as of March 28.

Ten active cases are now being treated and monitored at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), the Covid-19 referral hospital in Region 10, while the remaining 12 patients are being treated and monitored at a temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF).

Apart from positive cases from this city, the NMMC has 16 Covid-19 cases from various provinces, including 11 cases from Misamis Oriental, four from Bukidnon, and one from Lanao del Sur.

Yu is hoping to keep the daily case count low, since he only reported one new case on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 25,789, with 24,832 recovered and 935 deaths.

The city’s average daily attack rate (ADAR) is 0.54 percent as of March 27, which is still low-risk, as is the 2-week growth rate (-65 percent) and total bed utilization rate (14.41 percent).

With the continued decline in positive cases in this area, Yu stressed the need for the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to CHO data, the city has a total of 546,277 completely vaccinated individuals or 91 percent of the city’s total target population of 599,929.

114,378 people, or 21.8 percent of the target population, have received their booster doses, while 30,188 people have received their initial dosage.
