MANILA, Philippines — As of Friday, 65,992,980 Filipinos had received full vaccination against coronavirus illness (Covid-19), with 12,075,001 eligible persons receiving booster doses or additional protection.

The Philippines has administered a total of 142,489,795 doses, with 71,241,203 jabs utilized as first doses, or 79.15 percent of the government’s target vaccinees for population protection, according to the latest data from the National Covid-19 Vaccination dashboard.

Meanwhile, those who received the two primary vaccine series account for 73.32 percent of the country’s entire population of 90,005,357 Filipinos.

A total of 8,972,409 minors between the ages of 12 and 17 are fully protected against the disease, while 2,126,651 children between the ages of 5 and 11 received at least one dose of the reformulated Covid-19 vaccine, with 933,404 fully vaccinated.

To date, 6,609,619 senior adults have completed their two primary series.

Before the conclusion of President Rodrigo Duterte’s term on June 30, the government hopes to have completed the main dosages for 90 million adult Filipinos.

Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the senior implementer of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, previously stated that in order to reach the country’s aim of total economic recovery, the nationwide Covid-19 immunization program, particularly the administration of booster doses, must be expanded.

“Other tactics will be required to obtain more vaccinees,” he said.

The government has stepped up its efforts to make Covid-19 vaccinations more accessible to the public, including house-to-house inoculation for vulnerable groups, workplace immunization campaigns, and special vaccination drives in places where vaccination coverage is still lacking.
