Robredo denies forming an affiliation with groups that use violence to advance their agenda.

MANILA, Philippines β€” Vice President Leni Robredo, a presidential candidate, declared on Thursday that she would not support anyone who uses violence to advance their goal.

Robredo issued the statement in response to claimed attempts to blacklist her and her supporters.

“In a statement, Robredo added, “I will never form an alliance with anyone who uses force to further any cause.”

Such accusations that she is in a partnership with communist insurgents, she claims, are merely aimed to derail her campaign for the May elections.

“Ang pigilan ang momentum ng ating People’s Campaign,” Robredo said. “Malinaw ang motibasyon ng walang-tigil na pangre-redtag sa akin at sa mga volunteers natin: Ang pigilan ang momentum ng ating People’s Campaign,” Robredo said.

Robredo promised that her followers and volunteers would be protected from harassment as a result of the red-tagging initiatives.

“Nandito ako at ang buong campaign team, lalo na ang ating mga volunteer attorneys, para ipagtanggol kayo sa pangha-harass as maaaring maidulot ng laganap na red-tagging laban sa ating mga volunteers) “she stated

Lorraine Marie Badoy, the spokeswoman for sectoral concerns and communications undersecretary for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), previously stated that Robredo has formed a “tactical alliance” with communist terrorists that is “mutually beneficial to both of them.”

Badoy claimed that during Robredo’s March 4 campaign rally in Cavite, the Vice President shared the stage with communist “operatives.”

Badoy said Robredo’s camp should cease rejecting the agreement with members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), pointing out that CPP founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison even tweeted his official backing of her candidacy.

“The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo should quit insulting the Filipino people’s intelligence by pretending they haven’t struck a covenant with the devil, the communist terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF,” she stated.

The United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines have all designated the CPP-NPA as a terrorist group.

The NDF was officially legally labeled as a terrorist group by the Anti-Terrorism Council on June 23, 2021, identifying it as “an integral and inseparable member” of the CPP-NPA, which was established in April 1973.
