Isko Moreno believes that the silent majority will carry him to Malacanang.

MANILA – Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, the presidential candidate of Aksyon Demokratiko, is counting on the votes of the “silent majority,” which he believes will make the difference in May 9 elections.

Domagoso expressed faith that the lower middle class, as well as the urban and rural poor, will carry him to victory in an interview with reporters on Saturday during his campaign sortie in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

He believes that the “silent majority” simply goes with the flow due to political tensions, but that on election day, they will vote for their personal preference.

“Sa sobrang away nila, natatakot na ‘yung tao baka mawalan siya ng trabaho, baka hindi siya mabilhan sa tindahan niya o baka awayin siya ng kapitbahay niya, mawalan siya ng kaibigan, ina-unfriend Feeling ko ire-reserve nila ‘yung boto nila sa takdang panahon (Many people are simply frightened of losing their employment, or that no one would buy from their store anymore, or that a neighbor will approach them and say nasty words, so they just keep quiet.) “I have a feeling they’ll save their ballots until election day),” stated the first-term Manila mayor.

While traveling across the country, Domagoso said he encountered thousands of people who informed him their favourite candidate’s name, which was not the same as the survey leaders’.

He went on to say that political oligarchs have been actively influencing voters by offering them money or directly “buying” their support for particular candidates.

“Napaka-fluid ngayon, napaka-fluid ngayon, napaka-flu ‘Yung mga political oligarch,’ ‘yung malalaking pulitiko,’ ‘yung malalaking pulitiko,’ ‘yung malalaking pulitiko,’ ‘yung malalaking pulitiko (Everything is really fluid.) na na na na na na na na na na Political oligarchs and big politicians will continue to buy people. This isn’t a new concept). Don’t be that gullible. “We’re aware that it’s taking place,” he stated.

The findings of the PUBLiCUS survey conducted from March 30 to April 6 were announced on Friday, showing that UniTeam’s Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte maintained their large lead over their opponents.

Marcos led the presidential race with 56 percent of the vote from the PAHAYAG 2022 First Quarter Survey’s 1,500 respondents.

With 23% of the vote, Vice President Leni Robredo came in second, while Domagoso received only 9%.

5% stated they were still undecided about who they would vote for in the presidential election.

Duterte received 58 percent of the vote, with 15 percent for Senator Francis Pangilinan, 11 percent for Senate President Vicente Sotto, and 9 percent for Domagoso’s running mate, Dr. Willie Ong.
