Sara Duterte appeals to the public to respect the polling process and the outcomes.

MANILA, Philippines — Sara Duterte, a vice presidential candidate and the mayor of Davao City, encouraged the public on Monday to respect the electoral process and the results of the May 9 elections.

“Lahat po tayo dapat respetuhin natin kung ano’yung resulta ng eleksyon at suportahan natin ‘yung mga mananalo, ‘yung mga ihahalal ng ating mga kababayan,” Duterte remarked in a media interview.

Duterte also voiced optimism for next week’s “honest, orderly, and peaceful elections.”

On Sunday, as the country observed Labor Day, Duterte guaranteed the public that if she wins the polls, she will support the welfare of Filipino workers.

“In our country, we will continue to strive for the realization of workers’ rights,” she stated.

She also reaffirmed her call for Filipinos to receive their coronavirus vaccine booster shots (Covid-19).

“Ang pagpapaala-ala ko lagi sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan, ang pagpapaala-ala ko lagi sa inyo ay kunin niyo po talaga yung booster shot niyo, at pangatlong bakuna sa Covid-19.” If you are a Filipino, I would like to remind you to receive booster doses, or the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, if you are a Filipino. It would be quite beneficial because, if you get the disease, your situation would not be serious or critical, and you would not require hospital treatment),” she explained.

According to the most recent Pulse Asia poll, Duterte remains the frontrunner in the vice presidential election, with 55% of voters favoring him.

Duterte received the most votes across all geographic areas, with 51 percent in the NCR, 46 percent in Balance Luzon, 50 percent in Visayas, and 80 percent in Mindanao.
