A thousand job seekers attend the Labor Day fair in Davao Region.
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – During the 2022 Labor Day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair on Sunday, the Department of Labor and Employment in Davao Region (DOLE-11) reported over 1,000 suitable applicants and 27 who were hired on the spot.
In a report released on Monday, DOLE-11 stated that 296 applicants were recommended for next-level interviews.
On Sunday, the TNK collected data from two locations: the NCCC Mall in Buhangin district here and the NCCC Mall in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The 2022 TNK, which drew 69 local firms and nine from abroad, was a hybrid event, with preregistration, screening, and job matching all taking place online from April 25 to 29, allowing for faster on-site transactions.
DOLE-11 Director Randolf Pensoy emphasized the department’s commitment to assisting and mitigating the labor market’s recovery from the global health crisis in a statement released Monday.
“The pandemic has changed our access to job opportunities.” “We’re excited about what’s in store for our jobseekers now that we’re poised to resume a face-to-face job fair with our partners,” Pensoy added.
Pensoy advised job seekers to check DOLE’s official Facebook page for event announcements and warnings on a regular basis.
“As we navigate through the new normal, the Labor Day TNK is in keeping with the DOLE’s duty to encourage meaningful employment possibilities,” he said.
