New lawyer registration will be done in a regionalized manner.

MANILA, Philippines — The tribunal stated that successful bar examinees may sign the roll of attorneys regionally rather than only in the Supreme Court (SC) premises in Manila.

After clearing the bar and taking the oath, a full-fledged lawyer is obliged to sign the roll of attorneys.

The high court stated in a notice that the roll signing will be held regionally in the NCR and Luzon at the SC premises in Manila from May 4 to 24 and June 6 to 17.

From May 30 to June 3, bar passers in the Visayas can sign at the IBP office in Cebu City.

The signing of the roll will take place in Mindanao from May 26 to 28 at the Hall of Justice in Cagayan de Oro City.

Successful examinees are allowed a maximum of two guests and are obliged to wear formal attire and a face mask within the venue, as in previous years. Those who like to dress in their national costumes will be allowed to do so.

The bar exam, which was given in February and was the first since the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic in March 2020, was passed by 8,241, or 72.28 percent of the 11,402 examinees.

It was also the first localized bar exam, held at several locations, and the first to use digital technology, with examinees bringing their own laptops to 29 local testing centers across the country.
