On election day, the NTF-ELCAC urges unity and tolerance.

MANILA, Philippines — On election day, the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) has urged unity and tolerance.

Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, the acting spokesperson for the NTF-ELCAC, believes that the Filipino people would respect the results of the May 9 elections.

“Our country’s future is at stake.” Suffrage will be exercised by Filipinos from all walks of life. After all, everything has already been said and done. After all the hysteria, drama, adrenaline rush, tampuhan, asaran, bardagulan, iyakan, sigawan (grumpiness, sobbing, and shouting), courtesy of the election campaign season. “For the Filipino people, life continues on,” Gonzales said in a statement on Saturday.

Gonzales advised Filipinos to avoid allowing politics to split the country.

“Family will remain family.” People are going to be people. However, some, if not many, bridges have been burnt to ashes, and this is the tragedy that we must live with as a result of the elections. But, with less than two days till election day, this is a tragedy that can be avoided. “Let us not forget that we are one people and one nation under one flag, one hope, and one aspiration,” he stated.

Gonzales stressed that the NTF-ELCAC stands in solidarity with Filipinos in their quest for a just and enduring peace.

“We wish for a brighter future for our children and future generations.” Regardless of what color you wear on May 9, 2022, when you vote. Respect must win out. “Let us not be divided by politics,” he remarked.

People should not be deceived and exploited by those who want to undermine the country, especially during elections.

“We’re Filipinos,” she says. We have the ability to determine what is best for us and our country. “We are a people that are united under one God and one flag,” Gonzales declared, urging people to vote their hearts out.

The NTF-ELCAC also hopes for peaceful, orderly, and fair national and local elections in 2022.
