MANILA – Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte are the runaway leaders in the presidential and vice-presidential derby of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Tuesday afternoon, just as they are in other incomplete and unofficial counting.
Marcos has received 30,975,596 votes, or 58 percent of the approximately 67.5 million registered voters, with Vice President Leni Robredo trailing with 14,764,282, or 28.01 percent.
Sara Duterte, his running companion, has 31,411,919 votes, or 61.26 percent of the entire vote, whereas Senator Francis Pangilinan, Robredo’s partner, has 9,194,995 votes, or 17.93 percent.
As of 3:02 p.m., votes from 105,416 clustered precincts, or 97.8% of the total 107,785, had been counted, according to the latest PPCRV-Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Election 2022 Count.
Caloocan, Malabon, Sorsogon, Cavite, Rizal, Pasig, Batangas, Negros Occidentales, Cebu, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro City, according to the PPCRV, will receive more election returns.
Lawyer Vann Dela Cruz, the PPCRV’s legal affairs director, said Monday’s polls were “mostly calm.”
In a statement, he revealed that they had received complaints of defective vote-counting devices, but that the problems were quickly fixed and the voting process continued.
PPCRV is a national parish-based movement that fights for “clean, honest, accurate, meaningful, and peaceful elections.” It was founded in 1991.
