MANILA – “Very well-behaved.” President Rodrigo R. Duterte used this phrase to describe himself at a speech at the World Trade Center Lobby in Pasay City during the Puregold Sari-Sari Store Negosyo Convention 2022.

Duterte has not given a weekly public address this week, as he typically does.

Mr. President, we are live on television, nakalagay dito (it says on this address). They’re probably worried I’ll curse, therefore they’re afraid I’ll curse. “I promise you, I’m in good shape these days,” he remarked.

Duterte has a history of cursing and swearing during speeches.

He went off-script after delivering his scheduled address and thanked the Filipino people once more for electing him president.

“For those who trust in me…

I’m nearing the conclusion of my presidency. I’d like to convey my gratitude sa inyo and maraming salamat po (I’m nearing the conclusion of my presidency.) I would like to express my thanks and thank you very much to those who have helped me, supported me all these years, and those who have recognized my objectives for the country, who have led me to the presidency for six years),” he said.

This isn’t the first time he’s shown gratitude to the people for voting him president. On May 1, he did the same during the launching of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital in Clark, Pampanga.

He thanked Davaoeos for his three decades of public service, which began as a deputy mayor, after casting his vote in Davao City during the May 9 elections.

When late President Corazon Aquino named him as deputy mayor of the city, Duterte swore to continue serving the people when he returned to civilian life.

He also stated that he will continue his campaign against illegal substances by resuming his prior habit of riding his motorcycle through the streets.

During his time as mayor of Davao City, Duterte used to scour the streets for criminals. (
