ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Since the immunization program began in March of last year, at least 2,154,219 people in the region have been properly immunized with second doses, according to the Department of Health-Zamboanga Peninsula (DOH-9) on Thursday.

According to Dr. Cheryl Sarmiento, DOH-9’s medical officer, the agency has distributed 4,238,627 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines across the region.

She stated that 2,084,408 people received their first dose of immunizations.

According to Sarmiento, the majority of completely vaccinated people are indigents from the A5 priority group, which includes 444,362.

With 404,722, the A4 group of front-line workers in the critical sector came in second, followed by the pediatric 12 to 17-year-olds without comorbidity with 333,556.

Meanwhile, Sarmiento said that 301,183 people have gotten their vaccine booster dosage, with 83,435 of them coming from the A4 priority group.

The A3 (71,854), A2 (38,965), A5 (38,485), A1 (34,060), remainder of the population (32,072), expanded A1 (1,937), and expanded A3 (1,937) are the remaining booster shot recipients (375)
